Thursday, August 15th
Cloudpoint staff had the pleasure of coming together earlier this month for our 3rd annual company meeting. Employees came from near and far to discuss the future of the company, brainstorm areas of improvement, and enjoy some quality time together.
We kicked things off on Thursday with lunch from Braker’s and a showing of a video made by our intern Nathan about adventures out in the field this summer.
We enjoyed a competitive round of Office Feud. Sahara may not be Steve Harvey, but she did her best!
We had our monthly staff meeting, complete with updates from each of our teams and a great demo from Steve (Campus Facilities Technical Manager) on the capabilities of ArcGIS Indoors for campuses. We also discussed ideas to better our processes and checked out our brand-new GeoSlam for data collection! We have rented this unit previously and are very excited to have one of our own. We then got to tour our new office (more info on that coming soon!)
family picnic
After the tour, it was time for one of the highlights of the year, our family picnic. We gathered at a park shelter for dinner from Avantis, dessert from The Bakery Bar, games, and even a bouncy house (shout out to Hunter for saving the day after our vendor canceled on us). It’s always wonderful meeting our coworker’s families and enjoying time together.
Friday, August 16th
We started off the day bright and early with headshots and group pictures (CHEESE!) along with breakfast and a game of mingle bingo.
Then it was back to business. Jon delivered a motivating state-of-the-company address, and the news was all positive—Cloudpoint is thriving! After that, we broke out into groups to discuss feedback from our team member survey. These discussions are always a valuable opportunity to brainstorm ways to improve our work processes and ensure that every voice is heard. Over the years, we’ve seen meaningful changes come from these collaborative sessions, and this year was no different.
After a tasty lunch, we dove into a SWOT analysis, carefully evaluating Cloudpoint’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This led to a productive conversation about our vision for the future. Let’s just say, the future looks bright!
