We are excited to welcome two recent additions to the Cloudpoint staff: Jeremy Conner as our new Infrastructure Team Lead, and Cassidy Killian as our Senior GIS Project Manager.
Jeremy brings a unique blend of technical expertise and real-world experience to the role, with a Master of Geographic Information Systems from Penn State, a GIS Certificate from the University of Denver, and a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He spent the last six years as a GIS Consultant at TRC—previously Locana—specializing in implementing the ArcGIS Utility Network for gas and electric utilities. Before entering the GIS world, Jeremy served six years in the U.S. Navy as an Aircrewman and Rescue Swimmer aboard the MH-60R helicopter.
When he’s not immersed in maps and networks, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their daughter, Abigail, who keeps the family on their toes with toddler adventures, soccer, and dance.Jeremy is also a dedicated Jiu Jitsu practitioner, an avid reader, and a member of the GIS Association of Alabama, where he formerly served as president. With two cats—Walter and Leroy—rounding out the household, Jeremy’s life is a full and vibrant one, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.
Cassidy comes to us as first a peer, then a Client, now a colleague! After completing a Bachelors of Science in Geography from Illinois State University in 2001, he gained experience as a Geospatial Analyst and Cartographer for a few Federal contractors. However, his real dedication to and advancement of GIS technology came as the GIS Coordinator at the Town of Normal, IL for 17 years. Over his tenure, he oversaw major GIS data projects with various utilities, improved collaboration and sharing of data across departments, and rallied real buy-in from his administration in the use of GIS.
He is a certified GIS Professional (GISP) and am a member of the Illinois GIS Association (ILGISA) where he has previously served on the Board of Directors, and as Chair of the Program Committee.
Outside of the office, Cassidy and his wife, Beth (they recently celebrated their 20 year wedding anniversary last August!) enjoy traveling as much as they can. Most trips are usually centered around outdoor activities, live music, or tracking down a dirt late model race somewhere in the Midwest. No matter the scenery, they love spending time both up in the mountains and down at the beach, with favorite locations in Colorado, and St. John in the Virgin Islands.
