Jon Hodel provides a recap of the ArcGIS for Local Governments Solutions Showcase held in Rockford, IL on June 17, 2016.

Whether you came for the learning or the amazing food, this showcase was an excellent example of how we really 'cater' to the audience's needs. Half way through the program we juggled the agenda as the attendees wished to hear a bit more about the parcel fabric. We want these events to be all about you learning how the latest GIS solutions can directly impact your line of work.

Then in the afternoon we expanded on ArcGIS GeoEvent Extension for Server which connects with virtually any type of streaming data feed and transform your GIS applications into frontline decision applications. Tim Hensley, with esri, was able to show how location-based events in the field can trigger instant email alerts to the users in the office to help facilitate workflows. Best part is, you don't have to be a skilled developer to make this work as its all configurable through the extension.

We are planning to host a series of these events at various locations so chances are you will have an opportunity in the near future to join us. These events are designed for local government officials and department heads and are totally free.
