GraniteNet: The Bedrock for Utility Data Integration

I recently presented a webinar titled “Lifting the Lid on an ArcGIS and GraniteNet Integration”, which explored the connection between the water utility asset inspection platform and ArcGIS Enterprise. Due to time constraints, I omitted a section about the GraniteNet Viewer software. In the interest of providing a complete overview of GraniteNet, here is what you missed out on!

Inspection Observation Diagram

GraniteNet from CUES, Inc., assists water utility workers perform CCTV inspections to assess and analyze asset conditions. GraniteNet Advanced is used in the Camera Truck to collect the data for inspections, while GraniteNet Viewer is available for other organizational staff to view the inspection information in their office environment. One of the features in GraniteNet Viewer is an Inspection Observation Diagram, available from the Mainline Observation Navigator pane.

Matt Junker, Ongoing Services Manager

This diagram takes information from the Inspection Observation List, and presents it as an easy to understand visualization. In addition to seeing the observations between the upstream and downstream nodes, a user can get information about pipe condition issues, lateral connections, and the surveyed length of the pipe asset.

Reporting

GraniteNet has a variety of options to package the asset inspection information into a concise, formatted report document. Reports can be generated for mainlines, laterals, and nodes; other information that can be pulled into the report includes asset scoring, maps, or photos.

Start by selecting an asset from the Navigator pane, and right-click to choose Reports. The user can choose from a list of pre-defined report templates, or create a report on their own using the Generate Reports menu. The output destination can be either a printer, a file format such as a PDF, or an email.

In the Options menu in GraniteNet, the user can further customize the report via the Reporting module, by setting the file storage location, image quality settings, email settings, and logo.

Here is one example of the many template options available as the Report output in GraniteNet.

As you can see, GraniteNet serves as a great integration tool for native Esri data storage, analysis, and reporting. Contact us for help with GraniteNet integration!
