Think Tanks and Fish Tanks: Cloudpoint Celebrates 11 Years
Cloudpoint will celebrate 11 years in business on August 25, 2022. For our anniversary, we were able to bring our remote employees to home base so that all of the Cloudpoint employees could enjoy a full day of fun activities together. The day started at the office with a light breakfast of cinnamon & caramel rolls and a fun icebreaker game. We took updated “all staff” photos and did our company cheer for the first time in-person (let’s just say the timing was much better than doing it virtually).
Help for the Helpers: NG9-1-1 GIS Grants
Funding Updates
So much goes into transitioning a 911 system to NG911, from changing state policies to buying appropriate equipment to updating GIS data. This upgrade comes with a large price tag. There are a lot of variables and scenarios were calculated in the report to Congress, but we’re talking in the ballpark of $14 billion dollars nation-wide. Available funding varies widely by state, but…

Cloudpoint Elected For Address Data Cleanup in Ohio
Cloudpoint LOVES referrals! When a county Board of Elections in Ohio came to us in need of help cleaning up their address data - we were ready and (more than) able to help! Our work with the Board includes aligning the road names in two disparate databases to enable cleaner geocoding between the two. While it was our first time assisting a Board of Elections, it was far from our first time cleaning up address data, as we have assisted many 9-1-1 organizations with their data cleanup.
The Force is Strong with the Iowa Technology and Geospatial (ITAG) Crew
Hunter and Erin had a great trip to West Des Moines for Cloudpoint’s first foray into Iowa for a conference. The Iowa Technology and Geospatial Conference (ITAG) is a unique mash up of GIS professionals from the Iowa Geographic Information Council and IT experts from the Iowa Counties Information Technology organization. As the use of GIS continues to grow, the abilities and complexity of these systems leads it to becoming more entwined with Information Technology and services. As such, this combination of specialties are well suited for a joint conference.

Onward and Upward: Cloudpoint Expands Their Reach in Wisconsin, Missouri, and California
The past couple months have brought about a number of new clients to the Cloudpoint roster. Born and raised in central Illinois means that most of our clientele resides in the Prairie State, however if the past couple of years has taught us anything, it is the ease and ubiquitousness of doing work remotely. To that end, Cloudpoint has been pushing the envelope…
Cloudpoint Brings Indoor Mapping to Life
After months of preparation and work, Cloudpoint is proud to announce they have officially landed a major Indoor Mapping project. When a large manufacturer in Davenport, IA reached out for help with visualizing their facility and interior assets, Cloudpoint was more than ready to answer the call. Their specific request deals…
MAGIC isn’t just for Magicians
We had a wonderful trip down to Branson for our first MidAmerica GIS Consortium (MAGIC) Conference! We headed down on Monday through the rain (seeing what has to be the most creative use of traffic barrels at a rest stop on I-44), and got checked in just in time to chat with some old friends at the Welcome Social and walk to dinner in downtown Branson.
